GSA said Wednesday it awarded the contracts based on four geographic zones in an effort to streamline the competition process for small businesses and business transactions between brokers and GSAâs leasing personnel.
The GLS contract covers site visits, document preparation, market surveys and related services designed to help reduce rental payments for federal agencies.
Awardees for the National Capital Service Area, Northern Service Area, Southern Service Area and Western Service Area are:
- Carpenter/Robbins Commercial Real Estate
- CBRE
- DTZ Americas
- Jones Lang LaSalle Americas
- Savills Studley
- Public Properties
âThe new zonal approach not only makes it easier for small businesses to compete, but it also makes it easier for them to get prime awards, â said Chris Wisner, assistant commissioner for leasing at GSA.
âGSA is proud of the strategic improvements weâve made to this new contract, and we are looking forward to working with our new and existing broker partners.â
Some of the changes made by GSA to the contract include the alignment of commission agreement language with broker industry practices, introduction of strategic planning and new incentives based on market performance and lease cost and reduction in evaluation and reporting requirements.
GSA said it will conduct two training sessions in November to inform leasing officers and contractors about the contractâs zonal approach and performance requirements.
