General Dynamics Subsidiary Lands Navy Yard Services Contract Modification


general dynamics logoA General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary has received a $24.1 million contract modification to provide planning yard services for the U.S. Navy‘s fleet of nuclear submarines and moored training ships.

The modification falls under a potential $121.2 million contract the Navy awarded to General Dynamics Electric Boat in November 2011, the company said Thursday.

Electric Boat will deploy a team of engineers and designers to support submarine design, construction, maintenance, modernization, inactivation and disposal activities of the military branch.

Work will occur at naval stations located in Groton, Connecticut, and in Charleston, South Carolina.
