Gene Colabatistto: CAE Completes Buy of Bombardier Military Flight Training Business

CAE (NYSE: CAE) has concluded its approximately $15 million purchase of the military aviation training business of Bombardier.

The deal makes CAE the NATO Flying Training in Canada program’s new prime contractor and supports the company’s efforts to grow its live military pilot training services portfolio, CAE said Wednesday.

Gene Colabatistto, CAE’s group president for defense and security, said the company made the acquisition to grow its training systems integration work with military clients.

The company absorbed the former Bombardier unit’s 200 employees in Canada.

CAE first announced the deal in January with the intent to support classroom, virtual and simulator training programs at various Canadian military bases through the NFTC program.
