Dell has been awarded a $28 million contract to deploy an unclassified virtual desktop infrastructure for the FBI.
The company said Thursday it will set up an XC series of web-scale converged appliances, networking tools and the AppAssure data protection software for the 55, 000 named users within the bureau.
âWeâre very excited to have the opportunity to help a key government customer better accomplish their mission, and we are always looking for any way we can work with customers like this to best leverage their IT, â said Steve Harris, vice president and general manager for Dell’s federal business.
FBI users will use the Dell XC series appliances in an effort to develop a scalable virtual desktop infrastructure and access data via multiple devices, Dell says.
The tool is built to run Nutanixâs software.
