TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 14,  2015 — The Defense Threat Reduction Agency has awarded Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) an $18.6 million contract for additional work under the Jordan Border Security Project, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Raytheon said the new deal is the third increment in the phased JPBSP initiative and involves equipment, training and sustainment support designed to fortify the state kingdom’s border with Syria.

According to Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, the company will leverage its regional partnerships to carry out the contract, noting that the award validates the company’s experience in the Mideast.

“Our goal is to deliver the best possible border security offering for the kingdom, ” added Todd Probert, vice president for mission support and modernization at Raytheon IIS.
