Wilson Jones, president and chief operating officer of Oshkosh Corp. (NYSE: OSK), has been appointed to succeed Charlie L. Szews as CEO in a transition scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2016.
Szews will retire from Oshkosh on Dec. 31 and will be succeeded by Jones on the company’s board of directors, the Wisconsin-based said Thursday.
Richard Donnelly, chairman of Oshkosh’s board of directors, credited Szews for leadership over Oshkosh’s win of a potential $7 billion contract (currently under protest) to build armored vehicles for the Army’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicle program to replace the service branch’s Humvee.
Jones,  a 10-year Oshkosh veteran,  has more than 20 years of experience in the specialty vehicle manufacturing industry.
He previously served as president of the Oshkosh’s fire and emergency and access equipment segments before he became the company’s president and COO in 2012.
