TYSONS CORNER, VA September 30, 2015 — Casey Coleman of Unisys (NYSE: UIS) has indicated the need to further open dialogue between government and industry to help facilitate federal information technology procurements, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

Coleman, former chief information officer for the General Services Administration and current group vice president of Unisys Federal Systems Civilian Agencies, made the remarks in a blog post published Tuesday on lessons learned at her time as a federal worker.

“There can be a risk to communicating, but I would argue there is an even greater cost to not communicating, ” Coleman wrote.

“Without effective dialogue between government and industry, contractors cannot understand the outcomes the government is seeking, and they are hindered from effectively meeting the government’s needs.”
