DoD Seeks to Lock in Next Lockheed F-35 Orders By Fall


F-35TYSONS CORNER, VA September 25, 2015 — ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday that Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) could be nearing final talks with the Defense Department over a new round of F-35 fighter jet orders.

Reuters reported Tuesday on remarks by Frank Kendall, the Pentagon’s top acquisition chief, referring to negotiations for the ninth and tenth batches, or 160 planes total, as currently underway.

“I hope that they’ll conclude by this fall, ” Kendall was quoted as telling reporters on the sidelines of this week’s unveiling event for Norway’s first F-35 aircraft to roll out of factory.
