DISA Taps Inmarsat’s Federal Arm for $450M Satcom Services Contract


InmarsatGovtLogoInmarsat Government — the British satellite communications provider’s U.S. federal market subsidiary — has won a potential five-year, $450 million contract to deliver multiband SATCOM services to the Defense Information Systems Agency.

The Defense Department said Tuesday that Inmarsat Government will provide satellite coverage in C, Ku, Ka and X bands for the U.S. military’s fixed and mobile ground, maritime and airborne transreceivers.

DISA received three offers for the contract, which contains one base year and four option years that could extend work through Sept. 7, 2020.

DISA will obligate $150, 000 as a minimum guarantee to the company from the agency’s fiscal 2015 operations and maintenance funds.
