Carlyle-Chertoff Alliance Buys Majority Share of Coalfire in Cybersecurity Push


CyberStockA Carlyle GroupChertoff Group partnership has bought a controlling interest in cyber risk management and compliance services company Coalfire Systems for an undisclosed sum.

Louisville, Colorado-based Coalfire works with public and private sector organizations to help them assess their information technology systems and processes, Carlyle said Wednesday.

“We believe Carlyle’s strategic enterprise, security portfolio and track record of growing companies, coupled with The Chertoff Group’s deep sector expertise will enable us to better serve our clients, ” said Coalfire CEO Larry Jones.

Jones added the investment will help Coalfire expand international operations, increase research and development efforts, and recruit cybersecurity professionals.

Portico Capital Securities acted as the financial adviser and Cooley the legal counsel of Coalfire on the transaction.
