Boeing Vet Jim Simpson Joins Aerojet Rocketdyne as Strategy, BD SVP

Jim Simpson, former vice president of business development and strategy for Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) network and space systems, has been appointed as senior VP of strategy and business development at Aerojet Rocketdyne (NYSE: AJRD) in a move that takes effect Sept. 21.

He will report to CEO and President Eileen Drake and oversee the company’s efforts to capture business opportunities, Aerojet Rocketdyne said Wednesday.

“I’m thrilled to have someone with Jim’s caliber of business development expertise join my leadership team, ” said Drake.

Drake added that she believes Simpson and his team will work to address challenges related to the company’s growth efforts “as the aerospace and defense industry evolves.”

Simpson is also a former president of Boeing Satellite Systems International, president of Boeing Commercial Satellite Service and VP of commercial satellite systems for space and intelligence systems for the company’s defense, space and security segment.
