Rick Schmidt, formerly senior director of mergers and acquisitions at Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL), has been promoted to VP of M&A at the Iowa-based avionics technology maker.
Schmidt helped the company carry out its acquisition of ARINC in 2013 in the senior director role and has worked on other strategy development and acquisition initiatives at Rockwell Collins, the company said Tuesday.
“Rick’s strong focus on M&A, financial acumen, and project management expertise will be of considerable value to the corporation as we aggressively pursue our long-term global growth strategy, ” said Jeff MacLauchlan, senior VP of corporate development at Rockwell Collins.
Schmidt succeeds Steve Belland, who will retire from Rockwell Collins on Oct. 2.
