Army Performs Ground Launch Test on Raytheon AIM-9X Block II Missile


Raytheon logoTYSONS CORNER, VA August 27, 2015 — ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday on the U.S. Army holding a test-fire session of the AIM-9X Block II missile using a prototype IFPC ground launcher to evaluate the Raytheon-built (NYSE: RTN) projectile’s intercept-and-destroy capabilities.

In the demonstration, the air-to-air missile locked onto, blocked and destroyed the aerial target flying 1, 500 meters high, Raytheon said Wednesday.
