Aleut Awarded $395M to Help Run Cape Canaveral Launch Complex

Space Launch SystemAleut O&M Services in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has won a potential six-year, $395 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force manage space launch operations and infrastructure at Cape Canaveral AF Station in Florida.

The Defense Department said Friday that Aleut will help run, maintain and engineer the spaceport and it expects the company to finish work on Nov. 30, 2021.

The 45th Contracting Squadron at Patrick AF Base is the contracting activity and received eight proposals for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract through a competitive process.

The military service is obligating $810, 223 in fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
