Thomas Vecchiolla: Raytheon Pledges 100K to Advance STEM Studies in Poland

TYSONS CORNER, VA July 13, 2015 — Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has pledged $100, 000 in donations to two technical universities in Poland as part of the company’s support to further science, technology, engineering and mathematics education in the region, GovCon Executive reported Friday.

Military University of Technology and Warsaw University of Technology will each receive $50, 000 to fund engineering research grants and scholarships at the graduate level.

“At Raytheon, one of our corporate imperatives is to promote innovative learning in order to stimulate interest in scientific fields of study, and grow the pipeline of STEM-capable students and workers, ” Thomas Vecchiolla, president of Raytheon International Inc., said Thursday.

“This $100, 000 investment is the first step in Raytheon’s continuing support of Poland’s outstanding contributions to advancing scientific studies in fields that are helping fuel Poland’s economic growth.”
