GovDelivery has completed its acquisition of mobile platform Textizen as part of efforts to provide customized and interactive messaging functions to government agencies for use in citizen engagement efforts.
GovDelivery said Tuesday the addition of Textizen’s technology aims to address the demand for interactive communications among its government customers.
Scott Burns, CEO and co-founder of GovDelivery, noted that the acquisition also seeks to help the company aid government efforts to spur citizen action.
Textizen is part of the Code of America incubator program and piloted its interactive text messaging technology under a Code for America fellowship program in Philadelphia.
