IBM Gets FCC ATO for New Federal Cloud Service


IBM logoTYSONS CORNER, VA June 29, 2015 — ExecutiveBiz reported Friday on IBM (NYSE: IBM) receiving Federal Communications Commission approval to operate its new cloud services and Softlayer data centers for the federal sector.

According to a Nextgov report, the authority to operate applies to two facilities designed to handle government data assets.

“IBM’s federal cloud business has reached another milestone as we continue to work with federal agencies to embrace cloud as a way to deliver more innovations that drive citizen engagement to new levels, ” Anne Altman, IBM Federal general manager, was quoted as saying.

IBM is awaiting FedRAMP’s green light on another cloud offering called Smart Cloud for Defense.
