A Boeing (NYSE: BA) subsidiary has been awarded a five-year, $76.2 million contract to develop, field and maintain the U.S. Navy’s tactical mobile program.
Geoff Evans, Tapestry Solutions general manager of logistics information management systems, said Monday the company would operate and support existing and future TacMobile services.
The company will perform work in South Carolina, Maryland and Florida.
Tapestry services are intended to help naval commanders “direct and control sophisticated air missions, including sensitive data sharing between coalition forces, ” Evans said.
The TacMobile ground elements are designed to carry out planning, data processing and analysis for the P-3C and P-8A aircraft.
Tapestry will also perform design, production, training and disposal works for old equipment under the contract.
