General Atomics to Assemble, Test Aircraft Launch System and Arresting Gear for US Navy


General AtomicsGeneral Atomics has received a $737 million contract modification to produce, assemble and test an arresting gear and electromagnetic aircraft launch system shipset for the U.S. Navy.

The company will also work to engineer, install and checkout spares, repairs, technical data and drawing changes to the shipset for use on the CVN 79 aircraft carrier, the Defense Department said Friday.

General Atomics will perform work in California, Mississippi, Minnesota, Ohio, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Texas and Pennsylvania through September 2022.
