Patrick Fitzgerald, a former director of the Defense Contract Audit Agency, has joined Baker Tilly Virchow Krause’s government contractor advisory services practice.
Baker Tilly said Wednesday Fitzgerald brings more than three decades of government contracting, financial management and acquisition planning experience to the accounting firm’s GovCon practice.
Tony Fuller, government contractor advisory services team lead at Baker Tilly, said Fitzgerald will work to help carry out the firm’s audit operations and help clients with their decision-making processes.
During his five years at DCAA, the certified public accountant managed the agency’s 5, 000 employees who provide financial advisory and audit services regarding contracts to procurement practitioners at the Department of Defense and civil agencies.
Prior to DCAA, he served as auditor general at the Army Audit Agency.
Fitzgerald is also a certified government financial manager and a certified information systems auditor.
