DigiCert Buys CyberTrust Enterprise Business of Verizon; Mike Denning, Nicholas Hales Comment

acquisitionDigiCert has acquired Verizon Enterprise’s (NYSE:VZ) CyberTrust Enterprise SSL business for an undisclosed amount.

The company will take over Verizon’s trusted roots and intermediate certificates while Verizon will remain as DigiCert’s reseller of SSL certificates, DigiCert said Tuesday.

Mike Denning, vice president of global security at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, said the combination of CyberTrust and Verizon aims to help clients address the growing challenge in managing enterprise certificate lifecycle.

Nicholas Hales, DigiCert CEO, added that the company intends to help clients protect their data and control key management functions with its public key infrastructure.
