ViaSat Lands Radio Terminal Production IDIQ with US Navy, Intl Clients


ManpackRadioViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT) has been awarded a $478.6 million follow-on contract to produce and sustain joint tactical radio terminals for the U.S. Navy and international customers under a foreign military sales agreement.

The four-channel software-defined radio is designed to gather and transmit broadband, resist jamming attempts and protect data and voice across various platforms, the Defense Department said Thursday.

ViaSat will carry out the task in Carlsbad, California, through May 27, 2020,  under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The contract also includes orders from other U.S. armed services, Austria, Chile, Finland, Israel, Jordan, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K and NATO.
