Rockwell Collins to Build Poseidon Aircraft Navigation Systems for US, Australia


Rockwells Collins logo_GovConWireRockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) has been awarded a five-year, $24.8 million contract to build 47 P-8A aircraft direction finders, radio tuning panels and high-frequency radio systems for the U.S. Navy.

The Defense Department said Tuesday the company will also provide 16 pieces of navigation technology for Australia’s P-8A maritime surveillance aircraft under the contract.

The U.S. Navy is obligating $5, 639, 208 at the time of award from the military service’s fiscal 2015 aircraft procurement and cooperative partner funds.

Rockwell Collins will perform the work in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, through May 2020.
