A joint venture led by AECOM (NYSE: ACM) will continue to perform solid waste management work with the Energy Department for another two years under a $797 million contract extension.

Randy Wotring, president of AECOM’s management services group, said Thursday Savannah River Remediation would process “the Savannah River site’s high-level radioactive liquid waste” in an effort to help reduce potential risks to South Carolina’s environment.

Bechtel, Babcock & Wilcox and CH2M Hill are partners in the joint venture.

Work under the extension will take place June 30, 2017.
