NOAA Enlists Exelis Helios Tech for ‘Weather-Ready Nation’ Program


Exelis logoTYSONS CORNER, VA May 8, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — Exelis (NYSE: XLS) will lend its Helios technology to support real-time ground weather surveillance for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration under the Weather-Ready Nation initiative, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The Helios digital platform uses images and videos pulled from traffic and surveillance cameras to provide weather intelligence that works to enhance forecasts on driving and road conditions during extreme weather or natural disasters.
