India OKs BAE M777 Howitzer Acquisition


Bae systems logo_ExecutiveBizTYSONS CORNER, VA May 15, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday on India clearing the purchase of BAE Systems-made M777 howitzers from the U.S. government under a foreign military sales agreement.

Defense World reported Wednesday the Indian defense ministry gave the go-ahead to procure 145 units of the ultra-light artillery guns worth $493 million after a year of delays.

The two sides have been negotiating cost, requirements and local partnership details since the contract was awarded, according to the report.
