Alion to Support Navy in Ship Lifecycle Mgmt; Rod Riddick Comments

Alion-logo_GovConWireAlion Science and Technology will support the U.S. Navy in managing the service lifecycle of non-nuclear surface vessels under a potential three-year, $192 million task order contract awarded through the SeaPort-e vehicle.

The company said Wednesday the Naval Sea Systems Command tasked it to provide technical, training, program, business and financial management support as part of the contract.

“Every surface ship, whether recently commissioned or currently in-service, must be able to meet the country’s national security objectives, whether that means responding to threats or providing humanitarian support, ” said Rod Riddick, executive vice president of Alion.

The contract works to ensure that the ships are up-to-date and ready for operations, Alion said.
