David Bower: DCCA to Engineer Federated Data Environment for CMS

big data2Data Computer Corp. of America has been selected to engineer a cloud-based system for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ data collection and analytics program.

DCCA CEO David Bower said Wednesday that the company would design the data environment to incorporate “the full spectrum of data sources into a single federated system.”

“Our automated processes will allow CMS to normalize their disparate sources of data to gain a comprehensive and actionable view of their Fee for Service payment and clinical lab information, ” Bower added.

DCCA will also develop a data input tool and database for reporting market data about drug manufacturers and clinical laboratories.

The system will work to set volume-weighted pricing caps and display fee schedule reports to the public.
