Navy Awards Lockheed-Sikorsky JV Potential $2B for H-60 Upgrades


LogisticsA Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT)-Sikorsky joint venture has been awarded a potential $2 billion contract from the U.S. Navy to modify and repair hardware on H-60 naval helicopters.

The Defense Department said Friday that Marine Helicopter Support Co. will also support 1, 710 replaceable weapon assemblies and components for the Navy’s H-60 fleet under the contract.

Work also covers manufacturing, storage, obsolescence management, availability improvement planning and requisition processing services.

The Navy is obligating $260, 468, 968 in defense working capital funds for the initial delivery order.

Marine Helicopter Support Co. will perform work in Stratford, Connecticut, and in Owego, New York, through Jan. 31, 2020.
