TYSONS CORNER, VA March 24, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — Mike Petters, Huntington Ingalls Industries president and CEO, said shipbuilder craftsmanship and the performance of San Antonio class of ships have helped build and strengthen the LPD program, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

“This was most recently demonstrated by the Navy’s request and the congressional investment in the 12th San Antonio-class warship — and the Navy’s selection of this proven hull-form for its new LX(R) class of amphibious ships, ” Petters said Saturday.

He made the remarks at the christening ceremony for HII’s newest amphibious transport dock, the John P. Murtha (LPD 26), over the weekend.
