The deal also contains technological and training components and an option for additional 17 fighter jets, according to the report.
An Israeli ministerial committee approved the transaction in November and the deal builds on a 2010 agreement for the purchase of 19 F-35 planes, AFP reports.
It added that Israel-made weapons and aviation systems will be integrated into the aircraft.
A separate report from Reuters indicated that the F-35s are scheduled for delivery to Israel by the end of 2016 through 2021.
