Karl Nebbia, former head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration‘s spectrum management office, has joined Alion Science and Technology to lead the firmâs wireless spectrum services unit.
He led NTIAâs spectrum management office between 2007 and 2014 as associate administrator and joins the company as it pushes to build its spectrum support market footprint, Alion said Friday.
Rob Hirt, a sector senior vice president at Alion , said Nebbia will contribute to the companyâs effort to help domestic and international organizations allocate and manage spectrum services.
Nebbia previously managed the engineering, frequency assignment, policy, emergency planning and strategic planning functions of NTIA as associate administrator.
He also worked to develop domestic policy and coordinate spectrum issues with the Federal Communications Commission.
In a prior role as deputy associate administrator for domestic spectrum management, Nebbia chaired the interdepartment radio advisory committee, a mechanism that works to coordinate frequency usage with U.S. government users.
