Cloudera has bought self-service analytics provider Xplain.io for an undisclosed amount in an effort to help customers in enterprise data center deployment.
The Xplain.io team will join Cloudera to assist clients in adding workloads to their Cloudera environments, Cloudera said Tuesday.
“With the addition of Xplain.io technology and expertise, we have the opportunity to extend the self-service analytics revolution into the Hadoop platform itself, †said Charles Zedlewski, vice president of products for Cloudera.
Xplain.io helps its customers design and integrate data models with the company’s big data integration service product.
“The business intelligence industry has demonstrated that analytics is moving to a self-service model, ” added Zedlewski.
