Airbus Gets $221M Modification on Army Utility Helicopters Contract


airbus logoAn Airbus Group subsidiary has received a $220, 564, 993 contract modification to build 41 Lakota light utility helicopters for the U.S. Army.

The Defense Department said Thursday that Airbus Defense and Space will produce UH-72A helicopters equipped with airborne radio communication systems.

Production will occur in Columbus, Mississippi, and the Army is obligating all contract funds at the time of award.

DoD expects the company to complete work on the contract by July 31, 2017.
