Air Force Orders 24 General Atomics Reapers for $279M

ReaperGeneral Atomics-Aeronautical Systems will produce an additional 24 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles for the U.S. Air Force under a new $279, 144, 933 contract.

The Defense Department said Wednesday the fixed-price-incentive-firm and firm-fixed-price contract for the MQ-9 Block 5 Reaper aircraft also covers spare parts and support equipment.

The Air Force will obligate the full amount at the time of the award from the branch’s fiscal year 2013 and 2014 aircraft procurement funds.
