ATK Reports 3Q Aerospace, Defense Revenue Spikes Ahead of Orbital Merger


ATK logoATK (NYSE: ATK) has announced financial results for the third quarter of its 2015 fiscal year ended Dec. 28, 2014.

This is the company’s final earnings release under the name “ATK” as its aerospace and defense groups are scheduled to complete their merger with Orbital Sciences (NYSE: ORB) and create the future “Orbital ATK.”

ATK also released third quarter financial results for the future company “Vista Outdoor, ” which will be created through a spinoff of ATK’s sporting group in conjunction with the Orbital merger.

Third-quarter revenue for ATK’s aerospace group increased 2.1 percent to $324.63 million over the prior year period and the defense group recorded a 2.4-percent growth in revenue to $466.01 million from the third quarter of fiscal 2014.

Overall revenue for the company increased 3.6 percent to $1.25 billion from the prior year period and represents the highest third-quarter sales total in the company’s history.
