General Dynamics NASSCO Lands $498M Contract Modification for Navy Floating Base Construction

general dynamics logoThe U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) NASSCO subsidiary a $498, 116, 529 contract modification to design and build a fourth mobile landing platform-afloat forward staging base for naval vessels.

The Defense Department said Friday it expects NASSCO to complete work under the fixed-price incentive contract in March 2018.

Seventy percent of work will occur in San Diego, California, and the rest at various sites in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin and Michigan.

The Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting activity and the military branch is obligating all contract funds at the time of award.
