Air Force Awards Raytheon $344M for C2 Switching System Logistics Support


Raytheon logoRaytheon (NYSE:RTN) has been awarded a $344, 335, 000 contract to perform logistics work on a digital switching system of the U.S. Air Force‘s command and control network.

The U.S. Defense Department said Wednesday the company will also provide depot spares maintenance, engineering, installation and technical services for the Command and Control Switching System on a global basis.

The system is built to interconnect and secure military telecommunication lines and works as the backbone of the Defense Red Switch Network.

Work will primarily occur at Largo, Florida, and is scheduled to be completed by Dec. 31, 2019.

The firm-fixed-price contract also includes system support order from the Canadian government through DoD’s foreign military sales program.

USAF says Raytheon has supported the CCSS infrastructure for 25 years.
