Accounting Firms to Audit US Military Services

ContractKPMG,  Ernst & Young and Cotton & Company have each won contracts with the Defense Department to perform audits on the U.S. military services’ current year appropriated funds.

KPMG will audit the budgetary activity of the U.S. Army,  Ernst & Young for the Air Force and Cotton & Co. for the Navy, the DoD said Wednesday.

The companies will begin the audits in January through November 2015.

The DoD awarded the contracts in September in an effort to meet the department’s full audit readiness goal by the end of fiscal year 2017.
