Jacobs CEO Craig Martin to Retire, Noel Watson Named Exec Chair

JACOBS logo_GovConWireCraig Martin, president and CEO of Jacobs Engineering Group, (NYSE: JEC) plans to retire from the company on Dec. 26 after a 20-year career at the company that included eight years as chief executive.

Jacobs said Sunday that the board of directors has appointed Chairman Noel Watson, who led the company as CEO from November 1992 to April 2006, to serve as executive chairman until Jacobs appoints a new CEO.

“I plan to remain available to Noel and the team to facilitate the best possible transition. As a significant shareholder myself, I look forward to watching the company grow and increase in value, “ said Martin.

Watson held the role of president from 1987 to July 2002, when Martin succeeded Watson in that role.

Watson and the chairs of the human resource and compensation and the nominating and corporate governance committees have started the search process for a permanent CEO.

Edward Fritzky will remain lead independent director at Jacobs.
