Craig Cooning: Boeing Considers Cyber Business Divestitures to Focus on Market Niche

boeing logoBoeing (NYSE: BA) is looking into a potential divestiture or reassignment of some portions of its cybersecurity business as the company aims to focus on other areas in its portfolio, Reuters reported Tuesday.

Andrea Shalal reports that Boeing has secured classified cyber contracts with the government but faces a crowded market since its acquisition of several small cyber companies years ago.

“There doesn’t seem to be a common core or thread that runs through it, ” Craig Cooning, president of Boeing’s network and space systems business, said in an interview with Reuters.

“The critical thing is to find our niche and extrapolate and exploit it.”
