Fred Funk Takes SVP Role at Preferred Systems Solutions; Scott Goss Comments


PSSFred Funk, formerly a co-founding executive at The KEYW Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: KEYW), has joined Preferred Systems Solutions as senior vice president of the national security group.

He will be responsible for the company’s intelligence operations, business development and merger and acquisition strategies within the intelligence community, PSS said Sept. 23.

“We are extremely fortunate to have a talent like Fred on our team, ” said Scott Goss, CEO of PSS.

“Fred brings an impressive broad and unique background in operations, M&A and finance to PSS.”

Funk most recently served as chief financial officer, VP of corporate development and VP of national security solutions at KEYW.

He was previously VP of corporate development at Essex Corp., with responsibility in merger and acquisition activities.

Funk also oversaw Northrop Grumman‘s (NYSE: NOC) acquisition of Essex in 2007.
