VA Vet Charles De Sanno Named Systems Made Simple VP for Health IT


Systems Made SimpleCharles De Sanno, former executive director for enterprise systems engineering at the Department of Veterans Affairs, has joined the private sector as vice president of health IT strategy at Systems Made Simple.

“We chose Mr. De Sanno to join Systems Made Simple for his expertise and vast experience in health IT and working with our nation’s veterans, ” Al Nardslico, chairman and president, said Tuesday.

De Sanno held several health IT design and management roles during his 25 years at VA, including as Brooklyn Medical Center’s director of healthcare information systems and operations.

He helped lead the department’s initiative to centralize its IT governance, as well as in planning, organization, infrastructure development and standardization of its IT operations.

He was also honored in the Federal 100 Awards for 2011 and 2012, particularly for his role in developing a cloud-based information-sharing platform for medical data.
