Dave McClure, formerly associate administrator for the U.S. General Services Administration‘s citizen services and innovative technologies office, has joined Veris Group as chief strategist at the cybersecurity firm.

He will work with clients at both federal and state levels to help their organizations adopt cloud computing platforms and strategies in his new position, Veris Group said Tuesday.

McClure spent five years at GSA, where he managed an organization that is responsible for connecting the government to the public through call centers or online portals.

His office oversaw the implementation of several cloud-based, public-facing websites, the agency’s FedRAMP program and Presidential Innovation Fellows projects.

He held the role of managing vice president for Gartner‘s government research team before he joined GSA in 2009.

McClure also worked at the Government Accountability Office for 18 years and conducted information system reviews across the government during his time with the agency.

He served on the Federal Chief Information Officer Council and on the executive advisory panels of the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
