DLT Solutions has been awardedÂ a new blanket purchase agreement worth up to $40 million to provide Red Hat software and services to the Defense Department and intelligence agencies.
The Defense Information Systems Agency awarded the new contract, which will run for five years through June 2019 as part of the Pentagonâs Enterprise Software Initiative, DLT said Tuesday.
The Red Hat software in the recompete project includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Red Hat Storage and some Red Hat Cloud services.
DLT Solutions Enterprise Sales Director Jim ProppsÂ said the company intends to offerÂ Red Hat services to any interestedÂ customersÂ and added the company hasÂ been doing that for DoD and the intelligence community since 2004.
Agencies have sought to acquireÂ open source software in order to bring downÂ administrative costs, he added.
