Army Wants Common Auto-ID System for Pentagon Assets Tracking

ContractThe U.S. Army is looking for potential vendors that can provide automatic identification technology that will work to track the location and monitor the condition of equipment being used by the Defense Department.

A solicitation notice released Friday says the branch also wants to acquire data communications, hardware, software and technical engineering services from industry.

The products will be used to build an integrated platform for tracking assets of federal agencies, coalition partners and companies working with DoD.

According to the branch, the technology must integrate with DoD’s existing passive and active radio frequency identification systems.

The Army Contracting Command plans to award up to three contracts through the AIT acquisition program.
