Michele Franci Named Inmarsat Chief Technology Officer

Michele Franci, formerly vice president for the Global Xpress commercial program at Inmarsat, has been named chief technology officer at the satellite communications firm.

He will oversee functions such as product and service innovation, network engineering, frequency coordination and space segment development in his new role, Inmarsat said.

Franci joined the company in August 2012 and oversaw the market launch of GX satcom products and services.

Prior to Inmarsat, he was an engineering management committee member and senior vice president for space segment planning and acquisition at Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES.

He also worked for French commercial launch services provider Arianespace and Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker Space.
