Kelly Ortberg: Rockwell Collins Finalizes Satcom Tech Portfolio Sale

Rockwells Collins logo_GovConWireRockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) has sold a business unit that designs and manufactures satellite ground equipment for military communications use.

“This transaction is part of a strategy to reshape our government systems portfolio to align with the changing dynamics of the defense environment, and focus on core products that will fuel future growth for the company, ” Kelly Ortberg, Rockwell Collins president and CEO,  said Friday.

That satcom tech business employs 365 staff members and has office locations in Duluth, Georgia and Stockholm, Sweden.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Rockwell Collins builds technology products in the data management, flight deck avionics, simulation, mission communications and cabin electronic areas.
