Bell Boeing Awarded $70M Osprey Improved Inlet Solution Contract

boeing logoThe Naval Air Systems Command has contracted the Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office to perform upgrades on the V-22 Osprey aircraft under a $69.7 million cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order.

The deal encompasses work laid out from a previously issued basic ordering agreement to improve the ventilation design for the aircraft used by Air Force and Navy services, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

Specifically, the company will be tasked to review the design, and install the retrofitted kit for flight testing and operation.

Majority of the work will be done in Amarillo, Texas, for a December 2018 completion.
