A Bechtel-led team has taken over the responsibility for the management and operations of two national security facilities in Tennessee and Texas under a potential 10-year contract with the National Nuclear Security Administration.
Consolidated Nuclear Security LLC will oversee the operations of the Oak Ridge, Tennessee-based Y-12 National Security Complex and the Amarillo, Texas-based Pantex Plant, Bechtel said Monday.
The contract contains a five-year base period and an option to extend for up to another five years.
The NNSA awarded the contract following a transition process that began on March 3, during which CNS worked to integrate both facilities and fulfill schedules.
CNS comprises of Bechtel National, Lockheed Martin Services, ATK Launch Systems, SOC LLC and Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH).
